August 1, 2018Hi Mel, it just depends what you are writing about. Do not deliberately try and use different tenses to ‘show off’ this can make your writing seem unnatural and damage your band score. If you are giving an example about the past then you past tenses, if you are writing about ongoing changes over time then you might use present perfect continuous tense. They key is to just use the tense that is appropriate. Often I write an essay almost completely in present simple and it can still be a band 9. Just use the appropriate tense and do no try to over complicate it.

July 31, 2018Excuse me sir, I was told that I should write as many ideas as possible to create my body paragraph. Is this correct? You only have two real ideas not seem enough sir? Thakn for your videos 🙂

August 1, 2018The IELTS marking band descriptors require you to present, extend and support (develop) your main ideas. If you just list different ideas then you are not developing them, just listing them. This will not get you a high band score. However, if you use the structure I have shown you, you will be developing your ideas into proper paragrpahs and score higher. July 31, 2018Hi Chirag,I’ll give you some more information about this in Thursdays video, but essentially you just combine these different sentence types in a similar way to develop each body paragraph so that it answers the question.
